The Office of the Provost announces the inaugural cohort of University Outstanding Scholars.
The University Outstanding Scholar Awards program, a Next-Gen K-State initiative, was launched this spring to recognize outstanding mid-career tenured faculty members who are on an accelerated path for academic distinction. The program aims to reward and increase the recognition of Kansas State University's most promising faculty, to identify potential faculty candidates for university distinguished professor and external award nominations and recognitions, and to increase retention of excellent faculty.
The recipients of this year's University Outstanding Scholar Awards are listed below.

Ajay Sharda recognized by K-State Graduate School

Ajay Sharda, professor of biological and agricultural engineering recognized by K-State Graduate School recognizes faculty for exceptional graduate student mentoring. "High-quality mentoring is important for graduate students' academic success and their preparedness for the job market," said Claudia Petrescu, vice provost for graduate education and dean of the Graduate School. "A positive mentoring experience can also impact graduate student well-being and overall satisfaction with their K-State experience. This award serves to recognize graduate faculty who have demonstrated a commitment to holistic graduate student success."
2024 GRIPex awards announced

The Office of the Vice President for Research announces the recipients of the 2024 GRIPex: AI in the Disciplines awards. GRIPex aims to increase interest and capacity in leveraging artificial intelligence across university disciplines and is a follow-up program to the larger Game-Changing Research Initiation Program launched in 2022.
