Ketan ShendeKetan Shende

I am pursuing my Ph.D. in Biological & Agricultural Engineering Department and I hail from Mumbai, the financial capital of India. My academic journey started with pursuing a bachelor's degree in Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering from University of Mumbai, 2015. After working for a couple of years as Production Engineer for an IT company in India, I joined Texas Tech University for my master's degree in electrical engineering, 2019. My transition into agricultural engineering with a background in electrical engineering is driven by my firm belief to bridge the gap between these disciplines, as I see the fusion of electrical engineering principles with agricultural innovation as the key to sustainable, efficient, and eco-conscious farming practices.

As a member of FarmsLab, I am developing a wireless data communication system for an autonomous site-specific liquid application rover platform. I am also involved in revamping and testing of GNSS platform developed in-house for aerial and ground application systems.

I like engaging on university campus by serving as a committee member for diverse student organizations, enjoy watching documentaries and playing outdoor sports.
